Deborah Alsina MBE Appointed As Chief Executive Of Independent Age

Independent Care GroupIndependent Age, the older people’s charity, is delighted to announce the appointment of Deborah Alsina MBE as Chief Executive.

Deborah has been Chief Executive of Bowel Cancer UK for 10 years and will join Independent Age in October 2019.

Deborah said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be joining Independent Age, a brilliant charity providing support and information services and campaigning for older people. Personally, I have a strong commitment to tackling ageism within our society and to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live a happy, independent and fulfilling older life.

“I look forward to working with the charity’s staff, volunteers and supporters but also with older people themselves to ensure that the charity always has them firmly at its core and is delivering the greatest impact with and for them. It is an exciting challenge and one I am definitely ready to embrace.”

Justine Frain, Chair of Independent Age, said: “We are delighted to appoint Deborah Alsina as Chief Executive of Independent Age. Deborah is already very highly-respected in the sector and has a keen understanding of the issues affecting older people.
