Churchfields Residents Have A Ball At Witney Town Bowls Club

Churchfields Care Home in Cassington has forged new links within the community by forming a new sponsorship partnership with Witney Town Bowls Club.

The home has taken the opportunity to support the local bowls club, as well as support their annual Gala Day at the club on Station Lane recently.

To celebrate the new sponsorship, staff and residents from Churchfields were invited along to the bowling green to learn all about the lawn based sport and have a go themselves.

Jane Roberts, owner of Churchfields, commented: “Community engagement is something we take very seriously here at Churchfields as we feel it is important for our residents to take an active part in community life.

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring Witney Towns Bowls Club and we hope that it is the start of some flourishing friendships between our residents and members.”

The partnership will support the home’s ethos of supporting residents and staff to become valued members of the community, and is one of many community-based activities that the home has got involved in within the county.

As part of a varied activity schedule, which includes weekly trips to The Chequers Inn in Cassington, residents recently took a trip to the Oxford Ice Rink for a fun afternoon of ice-skating, with care staff taking residents’ wheelchairs to the ice.
