Christmas Comes Early As Northampton Home Raises More Than £650 Thanks To Fair
Christmas came early at a Northampton home following a Christmas fair where they raised just over £650.
MHA Rushden Park had been planning their Christmas fair since the beginning of September and they didn’t disappoint.
More than 100 people including residents, staff, their family members and the members of the community attended.
There were various stalls including some selling Christmas ornaments, as well as a creative stall where items produced from wire and resin were sold.
Guests had plenty of options for refreshments including a hot chocolate station, mulled wine and mince pies.
The home managed to raise a total of £650.52 which will go towards their amenities fund, from which activities and trips will be arranged for residents.
Victoria Stewart, one of the planners of the event, who works as a housekeeper said:
“I had a conversation with fellow colleagues during a lunch break and that’s how the idea began.
“We wanted to bring the essence of a Christmas market to the residents and guests and it proved to be a huge success.
“There were eight stalls in total, Santas grotto as well as live entertainment by Katie Rose who sang traditional Christmas songs to keep us entertained
“We received some amazing feedback from residents and their family members
“It was a intergenerational fair and we had plenty of attendees both young and old..
“It was a real team effort, we all got stuck in, colleagues came in on their days off, manned the stalls and made sure everything went well.
“To raise the amount, we did was fantastic, and it now depends on what the residents want to do with the funds.
“I want to thank everyone who got involved and came and made the fair the success it was.”
