Grove Court Care Home located in Woodbridge treated residents and guests to a special lunch to celebrate Suffolk Day.
Over 150 people attended a special Suffolk Day lunch at Grove Court care home, part of the Elizabeth Finn Homes group. Catering Manager, Anthony, and chefs Sarah and Euan created a veritable feast using supplies and produce from around the county. Local suppliers included Friday Street Farm Shop, Stokes Sauces, Dingle Dell Pork and High House Apple Juice.
Observed every year on 21 June, Suffolk Day is a county-wide event held to recognise all the county has to offer, its landscape and heritage.
Grove Court invited all its residents and their guests to the annual event, which alongside the buffet, included a barbecue, strawberries and Pimms, all served outside in the home’s extensive grounds. Guests were entertained by local quartet Harbour Lights and a raffle was held later in the afternoon.
“It was a fabulous day, the sunshine was a blessing and we were so pleased to welcome so many family members and people from the local community. Our residents had a great day out without leaving the grounds!” commented Kelly Lockwood, Grove Court Manager. “Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day.”
