Care South Residents Enjoy A Christmas Coffee Morning At AFC Bournemouth

enjoyCare South residents and home care service users from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Ferndown were invited by AFC Bournemouth to a Christmas Coffee Morning at the club’s Vitality Stadium last week.

Joining a group of over 65’s AFC Bournemouth season ticket holders, more than 50 Care South residents and carers from Dorset House, Elizabeth House, Templeman House, Talbot View, Fairlawn, Castle Dene, Queensmead and Wickmeads enjoyed the special event held in the Champions Top Floor Restaurant at the Cherries’ ground.

Entertainment for invited guests was provided by local singing duo The Land Girls, with members of the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust team on-hand to chat to their guests about the club, players and changes at Dean Court through the years, not to mention the recent successes in the Premier League. Festive-themed refreshments were served, including some delicious cakes and mince pies.

Many of the attendees on the day were life-long AFC Bournemouth supporters, so having the opportunity to enjoy the generous hospitality, meet the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust team and to see the Stadium was a very welcome early Christmas present!

The Christmas Coffee Morning event was funded by a grant awarded to Care South out of AFC Bournemouth’s Cherries community fund. The partnership allows residents, home care service users and staff to get involved in a variety of activities including meeting players, coffee mornings, walking football and visits to the Vitality Stadium.

Susan Willoughby, Chief Executive of Care South, commented: “We’d like to thank AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust for putting on such a fantastic morning for our residents and service users at the Vitality Stadium. It was a real pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves at the Christmas Coffee Morning, with many dancing to the fabulous entertainment by The Land Girls!

“Our partnership with AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust is one we are very proud of and it’s events like these that are really welcomed by our residents, home care service users and staff.”

Rob Mitchell, Commercial Director at AFC Bournemouth, added: “The Christmas Coffee Morning event was our way of saying thank you to Care South and to our life-long season ticket holders for their support, not only this year, but for many years gone by.

“We’re very pleased with our partnership with Care South – and are looking forward to lots more exciting events together in 2017.”
