Care Homes Offer Respite Care For Local Community

hillcareHill Care homes across the North East region, including Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and Hartlepool are encouraging those in the local community to use their services and facilities for respite care, with recent statistics showing that the numbers of people over the age of 85 in the UK, the age group most likely to need care, is expected to increase by over 50% to 1.9 million over the next decade.

The recent statistics indicate that there are almost seven million carers in the UK today (Source: Carers Trust) – that is one in ten people – and rising; indicating the current and growing need for residents who may require temporary as well as ongoing support.

Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer at Hill Care, said “There are thousands of carers across the UK, be it caring for a family member or a resident of the local community and this number is growing.

“It is our duty as a team of qualified practitioners to provide the best possible support not only for our residents in the homes but for those nearby throughout the community – offering carers relief from their duties, alongside support and knowledge, particularly to Alzheimer and Dementia patients.

“At Hill Care we offer 24/7 respite care, 365 days of the year to ensure the support for those who need it is available. Our staff work to provide information and support to the residents and their carers, whether they are visiting or here fulltime. We understand the need for carers to have a break from their dedicated role and the need for extra information and knowledge.”
