Care Home Worker Does 12 Mile Walk For Charity

Deputy Manager at Boroughbridge Manor in Boroughbridge has taken part in a 12 mile walk to raise money for St. Leonard’s Hospice, York.

The walk took place over the Yorkshire Wolds, and to support the fundraising 2 bake sales were held. The home held one bake sale whilst a second one was held in the village where Lynnette grew up.
This is an event that Lynnette takes part in every year in memory of her father who was cared for at the hospice in 2019.

Residents, their relatives and staff were all very supportive and enjoyed getting involved in the selling and eating of the cakes!

Susan Carter, General Manager at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home, said: “Taking part in this challenge has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind Lynnette all the way. It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”

Lynnette raised a grand total of £1701.25 by completing the challenge, which will be donated to St. Leonard’s Hospice.
