Care Home Residents Enjoy Kick About With Cherries Star To Celebrate Partnership

Care-South-Residents-s-492x328Residents at Care South’s Talbot View in Ensbury Park received some top tips from AFC Bournemouth’s Marc Pugh during a special visit to the care home on Tuesday 17th November.

The visit celebrated the second year of the partnership between AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust and Care South. The Cherries winger, who is ambassador for the partnership, joined in with a game of chair football as he met residents.

The partnership allows residents, home care service users and staff to get involved in a variety of activities including meeting players, coffee mornings, walking football and visits to Vitality Stadium.

Residents were invited to take part in the beautiful game from the comfort of their armchairs with Marc and the Community Sports Trust’s coaches. The fans’ favourite, who has been at the Club since the summer of 2010, also spoke to the residents about the team’s recent promotion to the Premier League.

Susan Willoughby, Chief Executive at Care South, said: “We are delighted that our partnership will continue for another year. Having Marc as our player ambassador has helped provoke strong levels of interest in the work we are doing together and we are delighted to have his support. In the last year, residents have visited Vitality Stadium, enjoyed many chair football sessions and some were lucky enough to watch the Cherries get promoted live at the grounds!”

Care South is the leading provider of residential and home care services across the south of England. Care South has care homes in Dorset, north Devon, Somerset, and West Sussex, and home care offices covering Bath and north east Somerset, and south Somerset.
