Care Home Manager Celebrates A Quarter Of A Century Of Service
It was a particularly special day for Cheryl Dobie, Home Manager at Prince Alfred care home in Liverpool, after staff and residents threw her a surprise party to celebrate her 25 years of service at the home.
Cheryl started work as a Care Assistant at Prince Alfred on the first day at opened on the 24th April 1991, and so it was a double-celebration for staff and residents.
Residents, staff, and loved ones, as well as guests from neighbouring care homes Willow Gardens, Arundel Park, Bishops Court and Simonsfield, kicked off celebrations with a champagne reception and afternoon tea. The party enjoyed an array of cake and petit fours, some of which were donated by the son of a Prince Alfred resident, who owns a bakery in Liverpool.
Residents and their guests also got into the dancing spirit, with ‘Havana Nights’ a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ themed show from two local ballroom dancers.
The day was all topped off with the presentation of a plaque and a selection of goodies to Cheryl, to celebrate her 25 years of service at Prince Alfred.
Cheryl Dobie, Home Manager at Prince Alfred, commented:
“It was such a lovely day, and the presentation was a massive surprise. I’ve loved my time at Prince Alfred and feel very fortunate to have a great team supporting me.”
