Care Home Brightened by GE Capital

The volunteer team from GE Capital at The Peele Care HomeA team of volunteers from financial services company GE Capital have delighted staff and residents at Wythenshawe-based care home The Peele, by generously giving their time to help brighten the home with a lick of paint just in time for summer!

The hard-working team of seven, from GE Capital’s Sale office, chose to donate their time to the home, as part of GE Capital’s corporate volunteer scheme, which encourages employees to give back to their local community. The Peele, a residential care home for older people, is part of national social care charity Community Integrated Care.

The team worked tirelessly with boundless enthusiasm, painting and decorating the bedrooms, after residents chose how they would like their own personal space to be decorated.

Lin Block, Home Manager at The Peele, says: “We were thrilled to welcome the team from GE Capital, who have so generously decided to volunteer with us. The effort they have put into making our residents’ rooms space such bright and pleasant areas is wonderful. Everyone here is so thankful for their hard work.”

John Goddard, who is on a two-year apprenticeship at GE Capital, says: “When I joined, I was told about the employee volunteer programme. I enjoy taking part in community activities, and thought that decorating at The Peele was a great opportunity. As well as allowing me to give back to the community, it also helps me meet a lot of new faces and gives me an insight into other people’s roles in our business. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend it to my colleagues.”
