Bowbridge Court Staff Surprise Residents With Mother’s Day Treat

Three staff members at Bowbridge Court care home in Newark surprised their residents by creating a pop-up beauty spa to pamper the ladies as a special treat for Mother’s Day.  Ellie Preston, Chloe Preston and Rebecca Jex made their way to the home even though they were not due to work that day and turned the coffee shop into a nail bar for the residents.

Each lady was welcomed to the makeshift beauty bar with a glass of bucks fizz before they enjoyed a manicure and hand massage from one of the members of staff.  There was lots of chatting and laughter and once the treatment was completed each lady was given chocolates and a single pink rose to commemorate Mothering Sunday.

Ellie Preston, who works as a Care Assistant at Bowbridge Court, said “We knew that our Front of House Manager was struggling to find a Beautician to visit on Mother’s Day and we didn’t want to let the residents down so we decided to come in and pamper them ourselves.  It was a great day and the residents deserve to be spoilt, especially on Mother’s Day!”

The girls ensured that no one was left out, and visited a lady who is currently on bed rest to give her a manicure and rose too.  Barbara Ross, who has lived at Bowbridge Court for over two years, said “I thoroughly enjoyed having my nails done and having a hand massage.  It was a lovely treat and I found it really relaxing.”
