Some of the staff at Borough Care’s Marbury House recently completed sponsored bungee jumps to raise money for the residents’ amenities fund. The amenities fund is used to put on a range of different activities and days out for residents at the home.
Lorna Weeden, Activities Lifestyle Facilitator at Marbury House, completed a solo bungee jump, while Deputy Manager, Jade Martin, and Carer, Dean Barker, did a tandem jump. Later in the day, Ashley Simpson, Maintenance Officer, also completed a solo jump. The team jumped from a height of 160 feet at the UK Bungee Club in Salford Quays. So far, over £600 has been raised.
Commenting on her bungee jump, Lorna Weeden says: “I found it both exhilarating and a little scary. It was definitely an experience I will never forget. Knowing we were helping our residents spurred us all on to complete the jump and I’m proud of us all for doing it.”
