The extension took some two years to complete and incorporated the vacated area of what was Fledglings Nursery, which was then attractively connected to the new resident’s rooms by a cleverly constructed conservatory. This allows the residents to enjoy some winter sunshine as well as spend time together in a bright and airy environment.
The extension includes some sixteen en-suite rooms, communal lounges and dining areas, gym, spa room and even a cinema which has regular showings of new and old films to reminisce with!
The “ribbon was cut” by current resident Mr Jeremy Buckland following a short welcoming speech by Manager Alina Verescu. Mr Buckland, who has happily lived at St. Matthews for some two years was one of the first residents to move into a brand new room. He and other residents, families and staff enjoyed a sparkling wine and strawberry reception to celebrate the occasion.
