Birthday Celebrations At Lincoln Home As Resident Turns 106
There was plenty to celebrate at a Lincoln home as one resident celebrated her 106th birthday.
Muriel Beattie lives at MHA Stones Place and celebrated her birthday with her family, friends and fellow residents.
Muriel’s son Stuart came to visit her along with her granddaughter and great grandson.
The home decked out one of the dining rooms for Muriel’s big day and prepared a birthday cake for her.
Muriel also had The Mayor of Lincoln Councillor Alan Briggs visit along with the City Sheriff Brian Harding.
The home provides residential care for 42 residents.
Bev Murray, deputy home manager said:
“Muriel had a busy but wonderful day celebrating her 106th birthday.
“She received plenty of gifts from family and friends as well as a telegram from the King.
“Her family came to visit her in the morning and then we had a teatime event where we served cake and tea to her, fellow residents and all the guests.
“We all sang Happy Birthday to her, and she was very overwhelmed with everything that was arranged for her.
“It really was a great day, and we all feel very proud to have been a part of her big day.”
