Birthday Celebrations at Cheshire Based Home Following Surprise Party for Resident Who Turns 100

A Cheshire based home organised a surprise party for one of their residents who celebrated her 100th birthday.

MHA Handsworth decorated the dining room with balloons, flowers and a birthday cake with a picture of Joyce Wilson, the resident who turned 100.

Joyce moved into the home, which provides residential care for 43 residents earlier this year and celebrated the day with close family members.

She went out for a family meal during the day for which she had a pamper session where she had her nails and hair done.

To conclude the day a surprise party was organised by staff at the home, with birthday cake being shared amongst family and residents.

Julia Ronan, home manager said:
“Joyce had a wonderful day and had a huge smile on her face throughout.

“We planned a surprise party for her which was received really well by Joyce and her family.

“Everyone had a great day, the home was beautifully decorated with balloons and flowers.

“We had a special cake prepared for Joyce with a lovely picture of her on it and she really enjoyed that.

“The highlight of the day was the telegram from the King, which Joyce was really proud of.”
