Birthday Celebrations At Burnley Home As Resident Celebrates 102nd Birthday

There were plenty of celebrations at a Burnley home following the 102nd birthday of a resident.

Jennie Hargreaves lives at MHA Heather Grange and marked her birthday with a party arranged by the home.

Jennie was born in Burnley and worked as a seamstress in her younger days.

Jennie spent the afternoon with her three children, Barbara, Geoff, Janette and their other halves along with her granddaughter Emma.

The home decked out their Burnley Bar with balloons and birthday banners.

Staff grabbed the mic and belted out a few tunes, to entertain fellow residents and Jennies family.

MHA Heather Grange offers residential and dementia care for 70 residents.

Speaking after the party, Janette said:
“Everything was totally arranged by the home, and it was a marvellous party.

“There was plenty going on, with refreshments being served alongside a tremendous cake.

“Mum is a very quiet person and keeps to herself, but she loved what was arranged for her.

“She was completely aware of what was going on, and you could see how much she was enjoying it.

“She sat with the family whilst everyone made a fuss of her, and it was great to see.

“On behalf of all the family, we want to thank all the staff at MHA Heather Grange for arranging everything, it truly was a great event.”
