Belong Macclesfield Celebrate 10th Birthday In Style

Residents, apartment tenants, staff members and relatives of current and former residents of specialist care village, Belong Macclesfield, enjoyed a garden party and plaque unveiling ceremony to celebrate the 10th birthday of Belong’s flagship village, which opened on Kennedy Avenue in 2007.

Guests were treated to a cocktail reception and barbecue and got into the spirit of the party by taking part in a selection of fun and games including: a baking and balcony decoration competition, quiz and a fancy dress contest.

The true highlight of the day was the emotional unveiling of a new plaque to accompany a memorial tree in the Belong Macclesfield garden. The plaque was revealed by Wilf Hall and dedicated to his father, Ron, who was one of Belong Macclesfield’s first residents and a much loved member of the community. The day was concluded by the release of 72 balloons, in honour of each person currently living at the village.

Caroline Ray, general manager of Belong Macclesfied, said: “We are very proud of the progress made by Belong Macclesfield since it opened in 2007. Remembering our former resident’s and releasing balloons for each of our current resident’s was a lovely way to mark this occasion and remember and thank everyone who has contributed to the Belong Macclesfield community over the past ten years.”

Gina Moorjani, experience coordinator at Belong Macclesfield, added: “We all had a fabulous day celebrating the village’s 10th birthday – residents and guests really got into the spirit of the day and enjoyed the games, competitions and cocktails. We look forward to enjoying many more celebrations and making more memories together in the years to come.”
