Bear Hugs All Round!

Pudsey-BearOn Thursday 13th November 2014 the nation’s favourite teddy bear, Pudsey Bear, popped into Stocks Hall Care Home in Burscough to give some loving bear hugs to staff and people living at the home.

The BBC Bear arrived early morning, visiting the home ahead of the 2014 Children in Need appeal which is to be held on Friday 14th November.

The giant mascot came to say hello and get lots of cuddles and high-fives from all his supporters at the home.  Pudsey could not stay long because Children in Need Day is his busiest day of the year but he did find the time to walk all the way round the home and make some new friends along the way!

The visit pre-empted the Care Home’s fundraising efforts for Children in Need on Friday when staff, people living at the home and family members join together for a Fancy Dress Fundraiser to raise money for the appeal.

BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity and thanks to the support of the public, they are able to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK. Every penny from the money raised or donated will go towards helping disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.

Sammi Molyneux, Home Manager said “Stocks Hall support Children In Need every year, so having Pudsey Bear visit us this year was a real hit with everyone.  It brought many smiles to the faces of people who live with us.”

“Children In Need is a fantastic cause and we hope to raise as much money as we can at our Fancy Dress Fundraiser on Friday.”
