Banknock Care Home Pulls Out All the Stops at Easter Weekend

Staff and residents at Bankview Care Home in Banknock, Stirlingshire celebrated Easter in style after colleagues in the home came together to organise an afternoon tea for them.

Residents turned their hands to arts and crafts ahead of the occasion, decorating colourful bonnets with feathers and patterns of eggs, nests and little chickens in a friendly contest. Sadie Whelan, a member of the home’s kitchen team, baked fresh treats for the occasion, such as cupcakes topped with little eggs and chicks.

The special day saw all staff members enjoy much-loved tunes together, as residents tucked into cakes and chocolate eggs. Residents who wished to, attended a virtual church service streamed from a local church in Stirling, to honour the day.

Carole Mackenzie, Activities Coordinator at Bankview Care Home said: “I plan activities like this to keep our residents happy and healthy. So, it’s lovely to watch them all get involved and take part in a bit of friendly competition over the arts and crafts table or a singalong. Easter is always a firm favourite – they all enjoy a sweet treat together and we love watching their faces light up.”
