Baillieston Care Home Honoured At Scottish Care Awards 2019

The Oaks Care Home, in Baillieston, has been recognised as a leading Scottish care home at a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating the best of the independent care home sector in Scotland.

The team won the Specialist Service/Unit of the Year category at the Scottish Care Awards 2019. This award celebrates a service, or unit within a service, that can reflect the specific skills needed to deliver high quality support sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia, other specialist conditions or client groups.

Operated by Meallmore Ltd, the Oaks provides specialist care services for adults aged between 18 and 65 who are living with mental health problems.

A special awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, which was hosted by Michelle McManus, with nearly 700 people attending.

Julie Stevenson, Manager of the Oaks Care, was proud to accept the award on behalf of the care home team, she said:

“We’re amazed to win this award, which is thanks to our team and the residents who all help to make the Oaks a great place to live and to work. To be honoured for their hard work really is the icing on the cake.”
