Archers Court Nursing Home Travels Back To The Roaring Twenties For A Glitzy Party
Archers Court Nursing Care Home was transported back to the Roaring Twenties this week with a dazzling Gatsby-themed party.
The home is located in Farringdon, Sunderland, and is part of the Orchard Care Homes group, which runs 23 homes across the Midlands and the North of England.
The party captured the spirit of events found at Orchard Care Homes, showcasing the group’s dedication to enhancing residents’ lives with fun and meaningful experiences that cater to their individual needs and preferences.
This event is part of a larger initiative organised by the home to celebrate the culture, food, and music of the time, allowing residents to share their own stories and reflections over the years.
Classic tunes from the glamourous decade played during the party included ‘Walk Right In’ by Cannon’s Jug Stompers, ‘Ain’t She Sweet’ by Piccadilly Revels Band and Dance, and ‘Little Lady’ by Noël Coward.
The party was a huge hit with both colleagues and residents. Everyone had the opportunity to dress up in outfits from the decade, with residents donning flapper skirts, gloves, and headpieces, while the gentlemen looked sharp in bow ties and suits.
