Andover Care Home Raises £600 For Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital

Millway House Care Home welcomed representatives from Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital, as they visited the home to collect a cheque for £600, generously raised by staff, families and residents through the home’s Christmas raffle.

Residents and staff at Millway House came together to raise funds through a raffle held as part of the home’s mince pie and mulled wine event in December. The event was attended by friends, family members, and the Memory Choir, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.

Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital was chosen as this year’s charity due to its close connection to the local community. Located near Millway House, the hospital has been supported by many staff members who have personally taken injured birds and animals there over the years and witnessed first-hand the vital work the charity provides.

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to hand over the donation in person and to thank the charity for their ongoing dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for local wildlife. Residents were particularly pleased to know that the money raised will directly support animals in need within their own community.

Care Home Manager, Claire Lousteau, said:
“We were overwhelmed by the kind donations from families this year, and are incredibly proud of the fundraising efforts made by our residents and staff. Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital is a charity close to our hearts, and it was important to us to support an organisation that has helped so many animals locally and means so much to our team.”
