And They’re Off… To Enjoy Royal Ascot!

Residents and staff at Kingswood Court Care Home in Kingswood, Bristol, dressed to impress as they enjoyed a week of Royal Ascot celebrations from 16–20 June.

The home embraced the spirit of the prestigious racing event, with residents and team members gathering to watch the races together while enjoying cheese and wine in the garden. The celebrations also included a sweepstake, fancy hat-making and modelling, dressing up in Royal Ascot-inspired outfits, and placing a few light-hearted pretend bets.

Attila Lengyel, General Manager at Kingswood Court Care Home, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating Royal Ascot. It’s such a wonderful event to watch, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the excitement of the races. We all had a little flutter between ourselves, even though none of us knows much about odds or form!”

Resident Doreen thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and reminisced about her own visits to Ascot. She said: “I love Royal Ascot and seeing the Royal Family, the amazing hats and all the fantastic outfits. I used to go to Ascot years ago, and I’ve always had an eye for fashion, so I couldn’t miss out on the fun!”

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to socialise, share memories and enjoy a taste of one of the UK’s most iconic sporting and social occasions.
