AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust Visit Residents At Dorset House
Residents at Care South’s Dorset House care home in Hamworthy, Poole, received some top tips from the AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust, during a special visit to the care home recently.
The afternoon was full to the brim with activities including chair football, games of ‘Beat the Goalie’ and even a skills demonstration from the experts, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
The visit from the community team was thanks to the exciting partnership between AFC Bournemouth and Care South, which began in 2014. The partnership allows residents, home care service users and staff to get involved in a variety of activities including meeting players, coffee mornings, walking football and visits to the Vitality Stadium.
After the chair football session, the residents enjoyed a well-earned lunch together and agreed it had been a brilliant afternoon.
Joan Nickson, Home Manager at Dorset House, commented: “We really enjoy the visits from the AFC Bournemouth Community Trust team, the residents always look forward to their visits. It’s great to welcome back familiar faces and residents love catching up with the team and learning the latest tricks. The activity session in the home is really important for the residents, keeping them active and engaging with the community is something we strive for at Care South.”
“Our partnership with AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust is one we are very proud of and it’s events like these that are really welcomed by our residents and staff. We look forward to another extra special visit soon.”
