A Frightfully Good Time At Local Care Home

frightfullyIt was all treat at South Haven Lodge care home in Woolston this Halloween as residents were entertained by a monstrous range of festive fun. Residents were treated to numerous activities including Pumpkin carving, line dancing and comedy.

Local Entertainer Lynette joined the residents for their Halloween themed Tea Party performing her popular music and comedy show which is always a hit with residents.

Residents also took part in a barn dance session with regular favourites Sally’s Stompers. The benefits of music for residents are well known and Sally’s Stompers always produce healthy degree of excitement, with residents moving in their seats, joining in with shakers and rattles.

The tea party was the culmination of a week of Halloween crafts, with residents carving the pumpkins and decorating South Haven Lodge with fun and spooky ornaments.

With all the pumpkins snapped up for carving residents satisfied their hunger from a special Halloween menu of “Beasty” burgers and “Horrendous” hot dogs for mains, followed up by a “Bleeding” do-nut for desert. The staff at South Haven are always looking to be creative at meal times, taking every opportunity to provide stimulating and nutritious options.

Becky O’Neill, Home Administrator at South Haven Lodge Care Home, commented:

“At South Haven Lodge running a fun and stimulating activities programme is very important for us”

“It was great to see the residents taking to the dance floor with Sally’s Stompers and singing along to Lynette’s rendition of some real classics”
