Derbyshire Home Takes Inspiration from Owners as it Hosts Awards Ceremony for Staff to Boost Morale
A Derbyshire home took inspiration from its owners by hosting an awards ceremony for staff as a way to boost morale and celebrate one other.
MHA Maple Leaf House hosted an OSCAR’S ceremony, similar to what MHA, the organisation that runs the home, hosts every year.
Staff members at the home all voted for one another and every staff member was given an award.
A buffet spread along with cake was arranged, with the home decorating the lounge with celebratory balloons and banners.

“We did it as a way to celebrate each other and boost the morale between colleagues.
“We decorated our lunge with banners and balloons as well as arranging a buffet for all of us to enjoy.
“It was interesting to see who staff voted for and the winner’s reactions when they realised they had won the award.
“The residents had a great time, they were clapping for and congratulating every winner and they really enjoyed themselves.
“We received some lovely feedback from the staff and when we shared the winners on our Facebook page we received some lovely comments and feedback.”
