Wisbech Care Home Teams Up With Nurseplus To Support Philippines Charity School
Dove Court care home in Wisbech, part of the Larchwood Care group, has joined forces with Nurseplus staffing agency to support the Little Angels and Scholars charity school in the Philippines.
This initiative aims to provide vital educational resources to children in need, showcasing the power of community and international collaboration.
The Little Angels and Scholars charity school, serving children in Tabang, Plaridel and Bulacan, is a missionary learning centre founded with the vision of offering free education to the poorest children in the area. Using a child-centred approach, the school strives to inspire young learners, ensuring they are well-prepared for their formal elementary education.
Staff, residents, and families at Dove Court care home have embraced the opportunity to contribute to this cause. They have been enthusiastically filling shoeboxes with essential items such as pencils, erasers, notebooks, exercise books, paper, colouring pens, crayons, and both new and gently used pre-school reading books for children aged 3 – 7 years.
Nicole Thompson, Manager at Dove Court, shared her thoughts on the initiative:
“We’re delighted to support such a meaningful project. It’s heartwarming to see our residents, families, and staff coming together to make a difference for children thousands of miles away. Education is a powerful tool, and we’re proud to contribute to giving these children the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.”
Noel F. Cruz who is president of the school sent Dove Court a message saying: “Thank you so much for your kind support and generosity to our humble LITTLE ANGELS AND SCHOLARS CHARITY SCHOOL in the Philippines.”
