Westwood Care Home Celebrates 50’s Day With Music And Memories
Westwood care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, recently transformed their activity room into a lively 1950s-themed celebration. Residents, family members, and staff gathered for a nostalgic journey back to the golden age of rock and roll, enjoying a day filled with music, dancing, and mouthwatering treats.
The highlight of the morning was a lively performance by Russ, a talented singer who delighted everyone with his spot-on Elvis impersonation. Dressed as the King of Rock and Roll, Russ had the room buzzing with excitement as he performed classic 50’s hits, filling the room with smiles, laughter, and plenty of dancing. The energy was infectious, with residents and their loved ones reliving the golden era of rock and roll.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the kitchen staff prepared an array of delectable cakes, reminiscent of the 1950s, which were enjoyed by all. The entire event was a resounding success, bringing together the community for a day of shared memories, music, and joy.
Natasha and Chloe, Lifestyle Coordinators at Westwood care home, commented on the success of the event, saying,
“50’s Day was a fantastic opportunity for our residents to reminisce about the past and relive those wonderful moments from their youth. The joy and happiness on everyone’s faces as they sang and danced to their favourite tunes were priceless. Events like these are so important for improving the overall well-being of our residents, allowing them to connect with their memories and enjoy the company of loved ones.”
