Webroster present 2014 Care Team award to Reach the People Charity at prestigious Great British Home Care Awards.
Webroster were delighted to present The Care Team Award to Chinese Domiciliary Care Team from Trident Reach the People Charity. Sponsored by Webroster, the Care Team award was presented at a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane on 6th June. The ceremony brought together the winners from the nine regional Great British Care Awards held in Autumn 2013. Winners from each region were invited to compete once again to become the national champions.
There were a total of fourteen award categories representing all areas of the home care sector, including older people, specialist services and frontline staff from care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training, and specialist care in areas such as dementia and innovation. The Care Team award went to the team that could demonstrate shared vision and goals and had a leader that could accept and take personal responsibility for their tasks. They also had to demonstrate a commitment to dignity and privacy for clients and respect for team members.
Commenting on the entry from the Chinese Domicilary Care Team the judges said “An amazing team, what they are trying to achieve against huge challenges is inspirational. Their vision would be for all Chinese older adults to receive the care that they as a team provide”.
Webroster Managing Director Nigel Gittins who presented the award to Anna Nip, Fomel Liang and Li Jin Koo of the Chinese Domiciliary Care Team, commented, “It is an honour to present this award to such an inspirational team, hopefully this will bring them some well-deserved recognition and highlight the needs of Chinese older people in our communities”.
“Anna Nip and her team at last have received the recognition that they have been entitled to for so long. The Chinese Home Care Team carry out their daily duties with dignity, showing at all times a very deep respect to the elderly customers they care for. They consistently go over and beyond what is expected of them in order to deliver the highest quality of care”. Said Anthony McCool, Charity Lead at Trident Reach the People Charity.
