The Laurels & Pine Lodge Grand Re-Opening
Poole Care Home, The Laurels & Pine Lodge welcomed the Worshipful Mayor of the Poole, Ann Stribley MBE JP, to a fantastic St Patrick’s Day celebration to mark the re-opening of the home following an extensive refurbishment.
Residents, family carers and guests gathered together for a short opening ceremony in which the Mayor cut a ceremonial ribbon before joining everybody inside for a lovely party.
Home Manager, Ian Finnie, said “We love a party at The Laurels & Pine Lodge and normally any excuse to have fun with our residents is enough, but having two such good reasons all on one day made for an amazing experience for our residents, staff and visitors. We spent over £60,000 altogether on upgrading Pine lodge to make it one of the best possible environments for people living with dementia and the result is a fabulous improvement to the home which our residents are already benefitting from. It has been worth every penny!”
The Mayor said “It is such a pleasure to be invited to join you on this special day…I remember when The Laurels opened up to look after its first 3 residents almost 30 years ago. I cannot believe that is has developed into such a lovely care home delivering such excellent care.”
Any great Irish party needs good wine, great food and singing and Ian and his team did not disappoint with any of these elements. There was a stunning buffet table groaning with food, plenty of wine for everybody and entertainment by Paul Spencer that had everybody singing and dancing along.
The Laurels & Pine Lodge comprises 2 separate and dedicated units delivering excellent Residential Care and Specialist Dementia Support for up to 54 residents.
