Stratford Upon Avon Home Celebrates Diversity Day To Showcase Pride And Joy In Cultural Uniqueness
A Stratford upon Avon home hosted a diversity day to celebrate one another and showcase the different cultures they have at the home.
Staff members at MHA Cedar Lodge are made up of people from various countries and religions and home manager Chrstina Samudzi was keen to highlight this.
The celebrations included celebrating the LGBTQ culture, and staff decorated parts of the home with Pride flags.
Staff and residents also wore coloured garlands to add some more colour and fun to the day.
MHA Cedar Lodge provides residential, nursing and residential dementia care for 47 residents.
Speaking after the celebrations Christina said:
“I am always very keen to showcase the diversity and culture we have here at MHA Cedar Lodge.
“The makeup of our staff is people from many backgrounds, races and religions and I think it’s what makes us unique.
“I believe we should celebrate each other’s uniqueness, be proud and acknowledge one another.
“Initially i could see some reservations when I suggested the idea of a diversity day, but once it all came together it was a lovely sight.
“We all got together, there was plenty of singing and dancing, and there were plenty of smiles.
“It was very colourful, which was the theme of the day, right from our cupcakes through to the famous fruit platters we have here.
“It was a beautiful day, one that was enjoyed by all including our residents, and one that we will definitely look to host again.”
