Stocks Hall, Skelmersdale Home Celebrates 25 Years

A Skelmersdale care home is celebrating 25 years of delivering care to its local community this month.

Stocks Hall Skelmersdale celebrated with a party on Friday 20th September 2019, with the Home celebrating their quarter of a century birthday. Families, health professionals, staff, suppliers and friends joined together to enjoy special time raising their glasses and celebrating the significant milestone.

Welcoming Deputy Mayor – Councillor Terry Aldridge and Deputy Mayoress Sarah Brennan, Sue King Manager of the Home made her opening speech. She thanked Mrs Sue Lace one of the Directors of Stocks Hall for “growing her personally, and her staff over 25 years.” Going on to say Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group is very unique and she has never worked for a Company that cared so much for each other. Sue expressed her delight that there were staff members in attendance today that had been here 25 years since the day the Home very first opened.

Councillor Terry Aldridge included in his speech, gratefulness to Stocks Hall Care Homes, Skelmersdale for giving the wonderful provision of Care, that it provided over 25 years.
The home, run by Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group, provides specialist nursing dementia and elderly care for up to 60 residents. In its most recent Care Quality Commission inspection, the home was rated to be ‘good’.

Sue Lace, Director of the Company thanked everybody for their attendance. She gave a history of the Home’s development sharing challenges, changes and future plans. Sue concluded her speech with such inspirational words “Finally a building is only a building-it takes people to make it a Home. 25 years has seen many staff giving above and beyond the job descriptions and I am most grateful to everyone of them. They are the people who make this all possible. I am so proud of every single member of staff, you are very special people.

So she ended “A very happy 25th birthday to Stocks Hall, Skelmersdale and here’s to another amazing 25 years to come.”

Following the speeches and enjoying such beautiful sunshine the group went on to enjoy a fabulous buffet provided by the Chef’s of the Home.
