Stevenage School Pupils Strengthen Community Links With Care Home Visit

Residents at HC-One’s Woodlands View Care Home, in Stevenage, were delighted to welcome pupils from Greenside School back after the summer break, continuing a much-valued partnership that strengthens links between generations in the local community.

During their recent visit last week, the local school pupils joined residents for an afternoon of autumn-themed crafts, working side by side to create colourful seasonal decorations.

The room was filled with smiles and laughter as students and residents shared stories and creativity. This special visit is part of an ongoing collaboration designed to encourage creativity, social interaction, and friendship across generations.

Elena Chelea, HC-One’s Woodlands View Care Home Manager, stated:
“It’s such a joy to welcome the pupils from Greenside School into our home. These visits mean so much to our residents, who love the chance to share time and stories with the younger generation.

“The energy and smiles the pupils bring really brighten the day, and it’s wonderful to see the friendships forming across generations. We’re so grateful for this special partnership and look forward to many more visits together.

Joh Maher, Greenside School class lead for Phoenix Class at the Hyde, said:
“These visits are always such a highlight. Both the school and the care home are excited to continue this partnership throughout the year, with more activities and seasonal celebrations already planned.”
