Spennymoor Care Home Welcomes Back Visitors

Colleagues at HC-One’s Lothian House care home in Spennymoor have worked hard to accommodate visits under the strict new guidelines that have been set in place by the government, so to see the smiles on their Residents faces made it all worthwhile.

Lothian House have been welcoming back Relatives for the past week as they finally get to be reunited with their loved ones in the home. The home devised an appointment system where Relatives could book 24 hours in advance for a thirty-minute visit.

Lothian House Colleagues have utilised a gazebo in the garden that its kitted with some comfortable furniture for all the Residents families and friends to sit on. Even the good old British weather hasn’t stopped the homes Relatives from visiting as they purchased a wind breaker to put round the gazebo to keep out the wind and rain.

Residents loved finally getting to meet up with their loved ones, with one saying: “It has been lovely seeing my daughter and having a good old chat.”

Lothian House Home Manager, Jill Morton-Carr said: “After a long few months it has been lovely to reunite our residents with their families, even during challenging times.”
