Staff member Lindsey Jacobe, who works as a care assistant cycled from Manchester to Blackpool and raised £115, taking the combined figure to £618.00

The summer fair was attended by more than 100 people with family members of residents, staff and former staff members present.

There was live entertainment in the form of the Marshside Brass Band.

Julie Lawson, deputy lieutenant, opened the fair, which was enjoyed by people of all ages.

Anna Harvey, home manager said:
“The summer fair was a very successful event and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“We had plenty of things going on from tombola, to face painting and a homemade jam sale.

“The combined figure will go towards the homes amenity fund, which will be used to fund activities and trips for residents.

“We already have a few trips planned and the funds raised will contribute immensely towards those.

“I want to thank everyone who supported us on the day, it was a great effort from the community, and we are really happy with the outcome.
