Singing Toddlers Share Festive Cheer At Winchester Care Home

singingChristmas wishes were delivered in song as children aged just three and four visited a Winchester dementia care home.

Seventeen toddlers from Tops Winchester day nursery sang festive favourites for residents at Colten Care’s St Catherines View home in Stanmore Lane.

The repertoire included Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney.

Team members at the home joined the children in wearing Christmas-themed jumpers while Santa himself popped in to deliver thank-you gifts for the young singers.

This is the third year in a row that children from the nursery have sung carols and other Christmas songs at St Catherines View.

Bianca Happle from Tops Winchester said: “The children always love it here and were so excited about coming. They practised their singing every day in the run-up to the visit.”

St Catherines View Activity Organiser Sophie Lambton said: “This was a really happy community celebration. Our residents appreciate the company of children, not least at Christmas when they come in and sing for us. There were smiles all round.”
