Silvanna Court Celebrates Abacus School With Heartfelt Appreciation For Their Support
Silvanna Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group hosted a heartfelt leavers’ party to show their appreciation for the dedicated staff and reading club members from Abacus School. This event marked a special day of gratitude for the years of support and joy that Abacus School has provided to the residents of Silvanna Court. One of the pupils said, “I love coming here and seeing their faces.”
The celebration was organised by Silvanna Court’s wellbeing leads and management staff, who wanted to honour the school’s ongoing commitment. Every week, school children visit Silvanna Court to read to the residents, a highlight of their week that brings immense joy to both the young readers and the senior residents. The smiles on the residents’ faces when the children arrive are a testament to the positive impact these visits have had.
One resident stated, “Watching the children grow from year 2 to now brings me so much joy.”
The leavers’ party was a vibrant and touching occasion, with many members from the Runwood Homes group in attendance, including the CEO, Gordon himself, and Paige Murray, Head of Marketing, Recruitment, and Sales. Their presence underscored the significance of this event and the appreciation felt by all.
“It was a fantastic performance, and it was lovely to see the relationships that have been made between the children and residents,” expressed Paige.
Leah and Deby, wellbeing leads at Silvanna Court, along with Louise, the deputy manager, and Rachel, the home manager, expressed their heartfelt thanks for the school’s dedication. “This is so wonderful, it makes my heart sing,” said June, a resident at Silvanna Court, capturing the sentiment of the day.
The celebration was made even more memorable by a surprise performance from the children. The students sang beloved songs from The Lion King, delighting the residents and adding an extra layer of joy to the event. “The children’s surprise performance on the day made it extra special for the residents; they were wonderful,” said the Silvanna Court team.
