Signature at Ascot Grange Residents and Mayor Join Forces to Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

A special guest was on hand to help residents Signature at Ascot Grange begin their celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Cllr John Story, the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, paid a visit to the luxury care home on Thursday 31st March bringing gifts in the shape of commemorative mugs for its Ascot Grange Residents.

As Her Majesty prepared to do her usual mid-morning paperwork in nearby Windsor Castle, the Mayor and Ascot Grange residents made a toast to her remarkable 70 years of dedicated public service.

Residents shared their stories of where they were during the Queen’s coronation in 1952 and at key moments during her long reign. The care home, which provides luxury supported living, nursing and dementia care, also provided commemorative decorated cakes as part of the celebration.

Speaking following the Mayor’s visit, Mark Deadman, General Manager at Signature at Ascot Grange, said:

“We are grateful for the Mayor paying us a visit and joining us in celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We were also very privileged to be the first of his many visits to care homes in the Windsor and Maidenhead Borough.

“Many of our residents have fond and happy memories of the Queen’s Coronation and have followed her reign over the years and will have marked previous jubilees and national celebrations in their respective communities.

“At Ascot Grange, and part of our own community we have created, we believe it is important to come together and continue these traditions.”
