Shining Stars Of Care Recognised At Care South’s Awards Ceremony
Care South, a leading provider of high quality residential and home care across the South of England, celebrated the outstanding achievements of its staff at its annual Stars Awards ceremony on Thursday 13 June at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium.
Now in its 10th year, the Stars Awards recognise and reward individuals and teams from across the company. Awards on the day included Home of the Year, Residential Carer of the Year, Care Supervisor of the Year, Best Care Newcomer, Best Care Support, Best Activities Programme, Pride in Our Home and the ‘My Inspiration’ award.
Nominees are put forward by colleagues, residents, service users and relatives. The ceremony also celebrated the achievements of staff who received formal qualifications during the year.
Fremington Manor was named ‘Home of the Year’ in recognition of its tireless efforts to create a warm and welcoming home-from-home environment for its residents and to reward the team for achieving a fantastic ‘Outstanding’ status in its recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) review.
Winners included Home Manager, Andrea Moorhouse from Dorset House in Hamworthy who won the coveted ‘My Inspiration’ award and Emma Cotton from Alexandra House in Parkstone was awarded Manager of the Year award. Bruce Law from the Bournemouth Home Care team was awarded Home Carer of the Year and Queensmead in Christchurch scooped ‘Best Dining Experience’.
The prestigious Chairman’s Award was presented by Felicity Irwin DL and awarded to Clare Baker from Buxton House in Weymouth, in recognition of her hard work making Buxton House the lovely home that it is today.
Felicity Irwin DL, Chairman of Care South, commented: “I have great pleasure in giving this award to Clare. She really has done wonders with the home and is a hugely committed member of the Care South team. Clare really cares for her colleagues and the residents and they have all worked together as a team and within their local community to make Buxton House the successful home it is today.”
