Senior Care Assistant At Penarth Home Marks 20 Years’ Service

A senior care assistant at a Penarth home has been recognised for her service of 20 years.

Claire Thomas works as a night’s senior care assistant at MHA Morel Court and marks 20 years of service.

Claire was presented with some flowers and some treats by home manager Suzanne Taplin.

The home provides residential care for 36 residents.

Speaking after the presentation Claire said:
“ I found out about the job whilst talking in the school playground, with someone who already worked here.

“That was when both our children were six and now, they are in their late twenties!

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years; I am not sure where the time has gone.

“I knew that when I first started working at Morel Court that I was going to enjoy it

“Working in care is very rewarding and every day is different, working in care makes you feel that you are making a difference.

“The little things like making someone smile by sitting and having a chat with them.

“Being part of a team and always feeling supported has kept me going, if things stay the same, I will possibly stay for another 20 years!”
