Secretary Of State For Health And Social Care Joins Top Line-Up For Expo 2018

The newly appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock joins the top line-up of leading national speakers at this year’s Health and Care Innovation Expo 2018.

Delegates will have the chance to hear the latest progress on how NHS England is developing a ten year plan for the NHS and embracing innovation to improve patient care including through digital and technological advances.

The Health and Care Expo in Manchester will provide one of the first opportunities for the Secretary of State to address a major health and social care conference following his recent appointment.

The programme has a comprehensive line up of senior leaders from the NHS, local government and social care to include keynote addresses and contributions Simon Stevens, chief executive of NHS England; Ian Dalton, chief executive of NHS Improvement; Ian Trenholm, the newly-appointed chief executive of the Care Quality Commission; Duncan Selbie, Chief Executive of Public Health England, and Glen Garrod, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Care.

The high profile speaker list also includes Professor Stephen Powis, NHS England’s National Medical Director, and Professor Keith Willett, Medical Director for Acute Care. Others speaking on behalf of NHS England include Professor Tim Kendall, National Clinical Director for Mental Health; Cally Palmer, National Cancer Director; and Chris Harrison, National Clinical Director for Cancer and Tony Rudd, National Clinical Director for Stroke. Chief Nursing Officer for England, Prof Jane Cummings is due to host a session on national workforce challenges across nursing and midwifery.
