Season Of Cheer At Derby Care Home

Staff and residents at MHA Maple Leaf House get into the Christmas spirit

Residents at MHA Maple Leaf House care home in Ripley, Derbyshire, have been getting into the festive spirit thanks to an abundance of ‘Christmassy’ activities.

The home has already held its annual Christmas fayre for residents and staff. This featured a variety of craft and gift stalls where residents could buy presents for their loved ones without having to brave the busy high street, along with games and delicious festive treats.

Staff at the home have plenty more activities lined up for residents to enjoy in the coming weeks too – including a Christmas party, candle-lit carol service on Christmas Eve and a New Year’s staff pyjama day.

Santa will also be paying a special visit to the home on Christmas Day and handing out presents.

Sue Wilson, Home Manager at MHA Maple Leaf House, said “Our residents had a wonderful time at the Christmas fayre! It really got everyone into the Christmas spirit and did a great job at kicking off our festivities for this year.

“It’s so important to have a full calendar of activities lined up during the cold and dark winter days – the residents love getting involved and it’s a great way for them to meet with friends old and new. We’re looking forward to keeping the celebrations going and bringing 2020 in with a bang at Maple Leaf House!”
