Say Cheese! Local Care Home Celebrates Cheese & Wine Day

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Moors Manor care home in St Leonards, near Ringwood had a fantastic time celebrating National Cheese & Wine Day on July 25th, surely one of the best days of the year!

The team got together to source some cheeses from around the world for us to taste, and paired them with all sorts of wines. The residents had great fun trying different styles of wine with the different cheeses along with relishes, chutneys, grapes, plus a range of breads, biscuits and crackers. There was a lot of debate over which flavour combination was best, it was very hard to decide on a winner!

General Manager, Jenna May, said:
“Everyone was so excited to hear there was a National Cheese & Wine Day, what a brilliant excuse to get lots of delicious cheeses and wines in to sample. It is such a classic combination, our residents had a fantastic time tasting all the different cheeses and wines on offer.”

Harry, resident at Moors Manor commented:
“We’ve all had such a lovely day. It really doesn’t get any better than cheese and wine for me, I’ve always been a cheese fanatic! It was great to be able to sample so many new cheeses and try them with different wines. We all had the best time.”
