Runwood Homes Residents Enjoy their Dream Day to York

For the residents at Jubilee Court care home in Nottingham, their dream day to the beautiful city of York became a reality, on Wednesday the 31st of August.

The residents, team and family members enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Train Museum and the Museum of Science, recollecting fond memories from their younger days.

The Train Museum is home to the most iconic locomotives and beautiful collections, which residents captured with a variety of photos, pulling a variety of silly faces. The residents also enjoyed a day at the Science Museum observing the weird and wonderful collections on display.

It was a perfect opportunity for residents to reminisce with family and friends over past times and share many memories with their loved ones.

The day was organised by Wellbeing Lead, Deborah Mills, who wanted to tap into the resident’s interests and give them a unique, emotional experience that they would never forget.

Commenting on the day, Deborah said:
“From the moment we set off the residents were so happy, and when we arrived, the absolute joy on their faces was so good to see. We heard so many stories of how they use to remember things back in their day and they got involved with everything at the museums. A massive thank you must go to everyone involved who helped to make this day a fantastic success.”
