Residents Don Their Sunday Best As Local Care Home Bids To Combat Loneliness

donReminiscence and sausage-rolls were on the menu last week at South Haven Lodge care home in Woolston. As part of New Century Care’s commitment to make sure all residents are spending valuable time with their friends and family, staff members organised a very special tea party and reminiscence session for all to enjoy.

Guests at the event were treated to a wide selection of tasty treats, including home-made cakes and cupcakes, arranged on vintage china cake stands.

The home was decorated beautifully for the occasion with delicate white linen tablecloths and festive bunting used to give the tea room an extra special feel.

Musical entertainment was provided with background tea dance music, with residents and their family members discussing their favourite songs from over the years and sharing some treasured memories.

Becky O’Neill, Home Administrator at South Haven Lodge Care Home, commented:

“It was great to welcome so many family members into the home for afternoon tea and residents really enjoyed getting dressed up for the occasion.

“Events like these show the warmth and joy so often present here at South Haven Lodge.”
