Resident Couple At Stainton Home Celebrate 72nd Wedding Anniversary

Margaret and John Wilson celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary

A resident couple at a Stainton home marked their 72nd wedding anniversary with an intimate celebration.

John and Margaret Wilson both live at MHA Montpellier Manor and celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.

The couple married at St Joseph’s Church, Norton in 1953, and have 6 children, John, Davis, Mike, Mark, Peter and Christine.

They moved from Stockton to Yarm in 1964 and have lived together at MHA Montpellier since October 2023.

John worked at MetroVicks in Stockton before setting up his own business Auto Electrics Ltd in Thornaby.

Margaret was a shorthand typist at The Jam Factory in Stockton, McEwan’s Construction in Stockton, which is where she and John met and Clay & Ward in Middlesbrough.

To mark the occasion John and Margarets daughter Christine along with Bev Eves, activity coordinator at the home arranged a special dinner and glass of something fizzy for the two.

The home provides residential and residential dementia care for 85 residents.

Speaking after the dinner Chrstine said:
“Me and Bev decided to arrange a little something for mum and dad just to mark the occasion.

“They both really enjoyed it, it meant a lot to them, and they had a great time.

“Bev had arranged for some music, some of the residents popped in throughout the day and it was lovely.

“We are very happy with the care and support my parents receive at MHA Montpellier Manor.

“The staff are very friendly and always on hand to support us and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for Mum and Dad.”
