
Resident Couple At Stainton Home Celebrate 65th Wedding Anniversary
Alf (85) and Isabella Gordon (86) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at MHA Montpellier Manor
A resident couple at a Stainton home celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with an intimate gathering.
Alf and Isabella Graham live at MHA Montpellier Manor and to mark their 65th wedding anniversary, a small gathering with immediate family was arranged.
Alf and Isabella are originally from Scotland and met at dancehall in Hamilton.
The pair married on the 5th of June 1959 and have two children, Gordon (62) and Kenneth (60).
Alf worked as an engineer and it was due to work the family moved from Scotland to Redcar and then Ingelby Barwick in 1987, which is where the couple stayed until moving into MHA Montpellier Manor in December 2023.
MHA Montpellier Manor provides residential and residential dementia care for 85 residents.
Speaking after the celebrations Gordon said:
“The home arranged a lovely family gathering for us in one of the quiet rooms.
“Me and my wife visit my parents a few times a week, but my brother Kenneth is there every day.
“My parents knew something was happening and we did want to make a big fuss but decided not to because it could unsettle them.
“They received a telegram from the king which they really enjoyed, we had some cake and non-alcoholic fizz and it was a lovely afternoon.
