Reigate Beaumont care home in Reigate, recently hosted a Career Work Experience morning. The event, which took place at the home, welcomed a group of 13 students from Reigate college that are currently enrolled in a variety of courses such as Health & Social Care BTEC level 3, Biology A level, Psychology A level, Applied Human Biology BTEC level 3 to name a few.
The students were introduced to all departments within the home and were able to listen to the staff talk about their career pathways that had led them to their current position, give an insight into what each of their roles entail and also spoke about further opportunities available to them. The student’s interests varied from being either Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics and some that wanted to just find out more about opportunities available to them. Thereafter students were able to interact with residents and find out about their past careers and career choices.
General Manager, Pramojil Kurian of Reigate Beaumont said:
“It was a great way to showcase our home and what Barchester has to offer by means of career opportunities, pathways and apprenticeships. Really lovely to meet such eager students that are passionate about their choices of study. Some students have enquired about volunteering while they are studying, which is really great.”
