Refurbished Care Home Celebrates Grand ‘Re-Opening’ With Mayor Of Taunton Deane

A Taunton care home, which has been undergoing a series of improvements and refurbishments, is celebrating its ‘re-opening’ with a visit from the Mayor of Taunton Deane.

Sherford Manor is constantly improving its service, recently hiring experienced new manager Katrina Ball, investing more than £300,000 in renovations, and the improvements the home has made were acknowledged in its most recent CQC report.

The Mayor of Taunton Deane Cllr Hazel Prior-Sankey joined residents and staff in celebrating Sherford Manor’s next chapter with a small party and a toast to their new beginning. She took a short tour of the facilities, and spoke to residents about their lives and experiences.

Katrina Ball, Manager of Sherford Manor, said: “We are delighted to be relaunching Sherford Manor, after the significant investment Larchwood Care has made in improving the home. We wanted to make it a very special occasion, and felt there was no better way than inviting the Mayor to cut the ribbon for us.

“The care of our residents is our highest priority, and it is essential for us to continuously improve our service to ensure the best care possible. The staff have worked incredibly hard, and I am very proud of what they have achieved.”

Cllr Hazel Prior-Sankey said: “It is lovely to be at Sherford Manor today to celebrate a new beginning. Well done to all the staff on this achievement. It has been great to meet so many of the residents and enjoying the party.”
