Rainbows Adorn Care Home For LGBT Pride Month
RAINBOWS decorated a Teesside care home as part of activities to mark LGBT Pride Month.
The “wear it rainbow” day held at The Beeches Care Home, Green Lane, Stockton-on-Tees, saw residents and staff dress in their most brightly coloured clothes.
They also created a multicoloured heart by painting sheets of A4 and assembling them together during an arts and crafts morning.
A rainbow cake and themed cupcakes were baked by the home’s chef, Sophie Henderson, for everyone to enjoy with a cup of tea.
Dozens of rainbow signs were also printed off to decorate the home for the day.
Resident Jean Williams said: “It was lovely to see us showing awareness for LGBT Pride Month, as it’s something close to my heart.”
Jess Brown, home manager at The Beeches Care Home, said: “We decided to hold a “wear it rainbow” day to help celebrate and raise awareness for LGBT Pride Month.
“Everyone has had a lovely day and all the staff really joined in especially wearing their rainbow outfits.”
